I believe that even in the midst of pain, overwhelm, trauma, loss, or uncertainty, people have an incredible capacity for resilience, healing, growth, and change. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, but it can also be one of the most meaningful investments you make in yourself and your wellbeing.
My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, understood, and emotionally safe - a space where you do not have to carry everything alone. I understand that every person’s story is unique and shaped by experiences, relationships, struggles, strengths, and survival strategies that deserve compassion rather than judgment. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, burnout, emotional exhaustion, life transitions, or longstanding patterns that no longer serve you, I am committed to working alongside you with warmth, empathy, honesty, and respect.
I view therapy as both supportive and transformative. At times, it involves learning practical tools and coping strategies to manage life more effectively. At other times, it involves deeper reflection, emotional processing, and understanding the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. Healing is not about being “broken” or needing to be fixed - it is about creating greater awareness, self-compassion, connection, and freedom to live in a way that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with who you truly are.
I strive to provide a therapeutic relationship that feels grounded, compassionate, collaborative, and genuine. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can exhale, gain clarity, strengthen your sense of self, and begin moving toward the life, relationships, and emotional well-being you deserve.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is deeply collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in genuine human connection. I believe therapy works best when you feel respected, understood, emotionally safe, and never judged. I meet you where you are emotionally and psychologically, and walk alongside you as we work toward where you want to be. I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, and I do not take lightly the trust involved in sharing your story, struggles, fears, and hopes with another person.
I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy because every person’s experiences, relationships, coping patterns, strengths, and wounds are unique. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor the work to best meet your individual needs, goals, personality, and life circumstances. Together, we spend time understanding not only what you are experiencing, but also why certain patterns, emotions, reactions, or struggles developed in the first place. I believe lasting change happens when insight, emotional understanding, and practical strategies come together in a meaningful and sustainable way.
Whether you are struggling with recent stressors or difficulties that have existed for many years, my goal is to help you move beyond simply “getting through” life. Survival mode may help us cope for periods of time, but it is emotionally exhausting and often disconnects us from ourselves, our relationships, and the life we truly want to live. I believe you deserve more than survival. You deserve to feel connected, fulfilled, emotionally supported, and able to live a life that feels meaningful, authentic, and aligned with who you are.
Clinical Experience
I have worked in the mental health field since 2000 and currently work within a medical trauma centre, supporting patients and families through some of the most painful, overwhelming, and life-altering moments they may ever experience. My work in this fast-paced, high-intensity environment involves navigating crisis, trauma, grief, medical uncertainty, and raw human emotion on a daily basis. Often, I meet people on what may be the worst day of their lives. While my role in those moments may only last hours, I deeply value the opportunity to support individuals and families with compassion, steadiness, and humanity during times of profound vulnerability. I take great pride in being a calming, grounding presence when people feel frightened, overwhelmed, or emotionally shattered. More than two decades later, my passion, commitment, and respect for this work remain as strong as ever.
I chose private practice because I wanted the ability to offer clients something deeper, more personal, and more meaningful. Private practice allows me the autonomy and flexibility to truly tailor therapy to each individual while developing authentic therapeutic relationships built on trust, consistency, and emotional safety. It gives me the opportunity to slow down, connect more fully, and support clients in exploring not only what they are struggling with, but also who they are beneath the stress, trauma, anxiety, expectations, or survival patterns that may have shaped them over time.
I believe therapy has the power to help people reconnect with themselves in a more authentic and compassionate way. As clients gain insight, emotional awareness, and confidence in themselves, they often begin making choices that feel more aligned with their values, needs, and the life they genuinely want to live rather than simply surviving or functioning on autopilot. I view reaching out for support not as weakness, but as a reflection of strength, courage, self-awareness, and resourcefulness.
I am also deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. I continually pursue additional education, training, and clinical development to ensure that I provide thoughtful, evidence-informed, and meaningful care. My goal is always to offer the highest quality therapy I can, while creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, challenged when appropriate, and never alone in what they are carrying.
